RELIEF PRINTMAKING 6 WEEKS COURSE:
Take your artwork further with relief printing! In this course we will focus on colour! You will learn how to adapt your own designs for a multicolour Lino print. We will explore the reduction cut technique and other methods to add colours to your print! No experience required and all levels are welcome! Join us! This course is a perfect continuation course, if you have attended a Lino course with Elena before, and also a great opportunity to learn Lino printing in depth for first time! All materials are included in the course fee €320 (incl. 23% VAT) Maximum of 8 students per course!
Our course starts on the 7th of November until the 12th of December 2024 from 7:30-9:30pm.
Lino Printing, or linocut, is one of the most popular printmaking techniques in Relief Printmaking. This course is designed for learning the fundamentals of relief printmaking. You will learn how to carve your own designs on a linoleum plate for making an edition of multicolour prints with the reduction cut technique. You will also explore the Chiné Collé technique for introducing an additional colour into your prints. The course will also cover hand printing, printing process, planification and paper handling, fundamentals of colour mixing, inking and print registration, as well as the use and maintenance of printmaking tools and of the printing press.
We love the meditative aspect of carving and the peaceful atmosphere when we are printing. Once you learn how to create with relief printing techniques you will be able to continue your practice at home, without the need of a studio, and just with a small selection of materials! Elena will give you great tips to continue printing at home!
Our groups are for a limited number of students on Thursday evenings 7:30-9:30pm. Everything you need to complete this course is provided and included in the course fee. You are welcome to bring visuals, photographs or sketches as a source of inspiration to create your own lino design.
Last time we offered a similar course: Thursday 11th April, for 4 consecutive weeks, until the 2nd of May 2024 from 7:30-9:30pm. Price €265 incl. 23% VAT. All materials included. You will get an additional 10% discount in our framing service if you wish to bring your prints home framed!

Set up a reminder: There are not scheduled email reminders for the beginning of your classes.We won’t be able to issue partial refunds or offer recovery classes for late start or any missed classes.
In the case you miss classes due to any kind of illness, including COVID-19, we won’t be able to issue partial refunds or offer recovery classes.
Please note that the use of a face mask for the duration of our classes is not mandatory, but there might be participants who will prefer to keep using it. We kindly ask to respect individual choices, and please do wear a face mask if you feel you might be at health risk. Thank you.
- In the case that Just Art It has to cancel the course, we will issue a full refund.
- If need to cancel your booking, we operate a strict 10 working day notice in order to issue a refund, due to the limited number of students we cater for.
- Please note that bookings are not transferable to another course or date in any circumstances.
- If a last minute cancellation occurs, we will try our best to fill your space, however we can only offer a refund if someone else books your place. If a friend or family member wants to take your place for the full duration of the course we have to be notified at least 48 hours before starting the course, and the person has to comply with our classes terms and conditions. Also, in this case we are not responsible for any type of fee exchanges or transactions.
