Description
This acid free printmaking 3 week course will cover Mono printing, the only printmaking process intended for creating one unique, unrepeatable impression. Monoprints are known as the most painterly method among the printmaking techniques. It is all about colour and experimentation! This is a good starting point for anyone new to printmaking, as an introduction to basic materials and practices, used in most other printmaking processes. You will learn additive and subtractive methods of inking, using brushes, brayers and unconventional materials. This course will also cover how to use and maintain the printmaking tools and the studio’s etching press. You will learn about printing process planification and paper handling, and you will learn about the fundamentals of colour mixing, ink layering, opacity levels, and print registration. Groups are for a limited number of students per group.
Dates: Our next course starts on Wednesday 22nd February 2023 from 7-9pm.
Price is €170 with all materials included. You will get an additional 10% discount in our framing service if you wish to bring your prints framed home!
“Mono-print is a great course – perfect length and you get so much done! You come away with maybe 12 prints and get to try a range of techniques and inks. Plus it’s very well explained and easy to do so you don’t need any prior art skills. Highly recommend!” (Testimonial Submitted 24/01/2020)
