Bellas Artes Levante Oils serve as a binder for oil paints, oil pastels, and tempera. It also functions as a thinner for these mediums and is used in oil-based varnishes. Compatible with turpentine and mineral spirits, this oil helps to lessen brush stroke visibility and slows drying time. It effectively reduces paint thickness, providing a smoother finish and extending the drying time.

Safflower Oil dries more slowly than Refined Linseed Oil but is less prone to yellowing, so it is used as a binder for light pigments, primarily whites and blues.
