Our Sustainability Approach

At Just Art, sustainability is the foundation of everything we do. Nestled on the wild west coast of Ireland, surrounded by water, wildlife, and creative energy, we’re deeply aware of how our artistic practices connect to the world around us.

We run a non-toxic, zero-waste studio where every choice, from the inks we print with to the packaging we reuse, reflects our care for both the environment and the well-being of our local community. Our printmaking practice is entirely acid-free, utilizing water-washable vegetable oil inks, and we’ve designed smart systems to reuse cleaning materials and minimize solvent use to nearly zero. Nothing goes down the sink, and nothing is wasted.

Sustainability also guides how we teach and collaborate. In our classes, we swap printouts for chalkboards, reuse materials wherever possible, and share our green practices with every student who walks through our door. Together, we’re nurturing a culture of creativity that’s conscious, respectful, and kind to people, art, and nature alike.

Our approach is built on three core pillars: Independent Producers, Artists Supporting Artists, and Local & Sustainable.

At Just Art, creativity and sustainability go hand in hand. We believe that by making art responsibly, we can protect what inspires us most, our health, our community, and the natural beauty that surrounds us.
