August 1st marks the official start of the Autumn harvest season in Ireland, and here we are getting ready for Autumn!
What an amazing year so far! Full of exciting moments, beautiful memories, great projects, and fantastic people… all making me feel so lucky, grateful, and happy!
We started the year taking part in the TONNTA Festival for the first time, introducing our Print Your Own Experiences.
We launched our very first printmaking continuation group, The Print Room. We enjoyed the new layout of the studio in full swing, with fantastic results from a group of nine students who had been attending almost every printmaking course we have ever offered over the years. That was a dream come true for me! GRMA 🙏
Spring brought us an amazing milestone: on May 28th, Just Art It became the overall winner of the Gradam Sheosaimh Uí Ógartaigh, and we had the honour of meeting the President of Ireland, Catherine Connolly. Read more about the event here
Our studio welcomed around 40 new students across our oil painting, drawing, and printmaking evening courses, and we reconnected with many former students this year! So good to see you all back in the studio!
We had a joyful time with our young artists from both our after-school art classes and our Teenager Art Club. Children, we can’t wait to start another school year in September!
Our oil painting continuation groups have created beautiful paintings, which are currently exhibited at Renzo Café until the end of August. This is our 3rd Annual Summer Group Exhibition, and it is dedicated to the memory of our dear friend and valued member of our group, Brenda Harrington, whose passion, kindness, and enthusiasm were an inspiration to us all.
This was followed by successful summer camps, where we very much enjoyed all the art exhibitions of the GIAF, and our young artists had a great creative experience!
We reached the end of July with the amazing second year of GTAF. We hosted and welcomed On the Verge by Closing Call Collective, which was a fantastic success!
As we welcome Lúnasa and look towards Autumn, we are opening registrations for our classes and courses next week!
